And her name shall be called...

So, we just have 17 weeks left until we meet our little girl and Eric and I are just ecstatic that everything has been going so well. Here are a few stats at 23 weeks:

  • According to the baby books, little baby girl weighs about 1 pound and measures about 10 inches long
  • Baby girl is moving ALL the time and sometimes feels like she is jumping on a trampoline in there
  • Mommy has gained a total of 13 pounds & 7 inches around the waist/belly
  • Mommy has forgotten what the days of the 1st trimester were like (loss of appetite, nausea, and generally just feeling icky). In the lovely world of the 2nd trimester, food is amazing and energy levels are high!

And now for the part you've been waiting for... And her name is...

Ruby Elise Humphries

Why we chose Ruby Elise: Eric's maternal great grandmother's name was Ruby, and because my birthday is in July, Ruby is my birthstone. Elise is my older sister, Anna's, middle name. We wanted our little girl to have a very special name that combined a little of Eric's family and a little of mine together.

Name meaning: Ruby simply refers to the stone (and ultimately derives from the Latin word for "red"). Elise is a short form of Elizabeth which derives from the Hebrew name Elisheva meaning "God's promise" or "oath of God"

We're very excited as we await the arrival of our sweet little Ruby Elise!!
